Quality Tier I Instruction Aligned to Colorado Academic Standards and Assessment Action Step Collaborative Planning and Communication Through consistent vertical and horizontal communication we will address focus areas for growth. There has been a decrease in overall performance from 3rd to 5th grade in the areas of reading and math. In addition, writing is consistently lower than other academic areas. Quality Tier I Instruction Aligned to Colorado Academic Standards and Assessment Action Step Blended Literacy and Math Pilots To better engage our youngest learners and supplement a primarily direct instruction curricula, we have been supported by District Six in piloting ST Math and Lexia online curriculum supplements. Both support programs use a pre-assessment to identify skill gaps at the student level, while also enabling teachers to assign skill-specific practice. 9/1/2017 5/15/2018 Director of Curriculum; Blended Coach, K & 1st grade teachers. Quality Tier I Instruction Aligned to Colorado Academic Standards and Assessment Action Step Family Parent Coalition In spring 2018, Dos Rios and four other District Six schools started a process to develop a Parent Leadership Team. This includes 4 parents, 2 teachers, the principal, and a parent/community liaison. We will meet three times in spring 2018 and monthly, beginning fall 2018. This team is an academic team focused on parent and community engagement. We also have started to analyze the national PTA standards and have begun by completing a self assessment on Standard I. We are also working to see how this team will complement the work of our School Accountability Committee, Parent Teacher Group, and Pedagogical Leadership Team. 3/26/2018 5/23/2019 Jesse Tijerina, Scott Filippini, Lynn Perrich, team of 4 parents and 2 teachers. Quality Tier I Instruction Aligned to Colorado Academic Standards and Assessment Action Step READ Act Revisions After receiving 2017-2018 feedback on our UIP, the Dos Rios Pedagogical Leadership Team developed a task force to take a closer look at a disaggregated K-3 READ Plan results to study trends, revise grade-level goals, establish a measure, focus on strategies to include in an action plan that is more responsive to the grade-level needs for increased urgency in reducing risk for students who have a Significant Reading Deficiency. ELL High-Yield Pedagogical Practices Action Step Instruction Data Team Planning Utilize the data team process to delineate all students by standards. ELL High-Yield Pedagogical Practices Action Step District Professional Development District professional development implemented through a trainer-of-trainers model, with support from WestEd. Members of the Pedagogical Leadership Team will bring their learning back to their peers for professional development during full-day professional development sessions throughout the school year. ELL High-Yield Pedagogical Practices Action Step Timely and Actionable Observation Feedback During the 2017-2018 school year, Dos Rios administration has been receiving support from the Assistant Superintendent of Elementary & K-8 Leadership in a study of Get Better Faster (Bambrick-Santoyo) to improve our process of observational feedback cycles. This team has met monthly to observe others in this coaching/feedback cycle and has begun to improve our targeted feedback and practice with teachers, particularly with our weekly walk-throughs for Academic Discourse (Goal #1) and Writing (Goal #2).
